The primary mission of the Intergroup membership committee is to attract new groups to become active participants in Intergroup.
As stated in our 11th tradition, “Our public relations policy is based on attraction, rather than promotion…”. Intergroup representatives and volunteers are asked to visit all meetings in their area and educate and invite new groups that are not currently represented. Give your group a voice!
The membership committee’s main responsibility is to be available to the intergroup office when needs arise surrounding membership. Outside of that this committee is much like a pep squad. We rally the troops to get excited about being involved in intergroup!
Take action! Bring up Intergroup in your group conscious. Ask, “Do we have an Intergroup Rep? If so, are they actively participating and going to monthly meetings and making monthly reports to their respective group?” If you find you have no representation suggest reaching out to the membership committee to invite a volunteer that would explain Intergroup and why it is important to your group.
